Brent Bailey is a son, student, advocate, and servant to all mankind. Throughout his young career, Brent has been known as a highly motivated analytical professional who is dedicated to public service. As a graduate of the University of Louisiana, Brent obtained his bachelor’s degree in criminal justice in the fall of 2020. Shortly after graduation, Brent began his career as the Program Manager for the City of New Orleans Office of Gun Violence Prevention. While serving as the program manager, Brent was able to successfully grow the Barbers and Beauticians Collective Fellowship, develop unique strategies to reduce gun violence from a public health approach, and work with communities most impacted by gun violence in the New Orleans area. Through these endeavors, Brent was able to quickly rise to his current position as Regional Advocacy Associate with Community Justice Action Fund. As a regional advocacy associate, Brent serves in Louisiana, North Carolina, Georgia, and across the southern region of the United States. In this role, Brent is able to build statewide coalitions, create education campaigns, and provide resources to Black and Brown communities most impacted by gun violence. Outside of his career, Brent remains committed to serving his community. When he is not working with Community Justice, you can find him working alongside a number of different civic organizations. Some of those organizations include, but are not limited to: The Urban League of Louisiana Young Professionals, St. Bernard Parish NAACP, Young Democrats of Louisiana, and The Memorial Foundation. As a proud Leaders of Color alumni, Brent hopes that one day he can run for office to effect change in the state he has called home his entire life. In his free time, you can catch Brent reading the latest novel, working out, or cheering on his New Orleans Saints, Pelicans, and Tulane Green Wave! #RollWave
